Renovation and expansion of a holiday home in Croatia

The house is located in a beautiful spot on the Pelješac Peninsula, in the midst of protected vineyards in Postup. The clients purchased a two-story, ruined house there and desired an additional floor as well as complete renovation. The design is inspired by traditional Dalmatian architecture. Simple forms were used for the design, and the existing structure of the ground floor was preserved. The original preliminary design included a double height living space with a large double window. This window featured shutters that, when opened, allowed for natural ventilation. However, to create more living space for family members, the clients decided to forgo the double-height living space.
